I had all but quit. For what was the point?
Driven by a madness unknown to the world
For in sleep I dreamed, and in the morning?
Well I dreamed again, because then it unfurled.
A creation of punctuation and sheer delight,
The formulated patterns grew in my twisted mind;
It was there my trouble aroused along with time,
So I hid it in a place unknown, an uneasy find.
But You - You woke the sleeper again turned dreamer
By sharing your unworldly passion and desire;
You pulled at my weakness and took hold of a piece;
Set off an unwavering, though doubtful, fire.
Could I be how I was in years past without fear?
Was it possible to carry on the madness within my sight?
A dragon woken to spread terror, but it was pure;
And in my heart, I found time to pick up the pen and write.
